Safety Rule For Traffic

Sahas Foundation is Mumbai based Ngo that Focused on Road safety. It is a shocking fact that more than one lakh people are killed in India every year in Road accidents. This is about than 10% of the death toll across the world in Road accidents. Our aims to reduce the deaths and injuries caused by road accidents by working very closely with the government and related agencies as well as spreading awareness amongst general public.

The primary objectives of this project are to: 

·        Create awareness among the masses on road safety, safety rule for traffic, road safety signs and accident preventive measures to be considered by every citizen in India.

• Help victims of road accidents and natural calamities through rescue and relief operations, providing emergency medical aid to save valuable lives.

• Volunteering Traffic Control Assistance at the crucial and accident prone areas.
• Alerting the public through Public Addressing System.
• Patrolling, Construction of Foot-over bridges.
• Maintenance of Traffic Signals, Traffic Islands, Blinkers, Refreshment Parlors on the High Ways etc.,
• Providing Emergency Medical Aid to the victims of accidents and natural calamities.

Causes of Accidents 

• Drivers’ fault – 77.91%
• Pedestrian fault / fault of passengers - 1.36%
• Mechanical defect in vehicles - 2.01%
• Bad roads – 1.32%
• Other factors like bad weather, cattle coming in the way, fallen trees, road blockage, absence of rear reflectors, road signage’s, non-functioning of road signals, etc – 17.40%
